FACIAL FILLERS: CALCIUM HYDROXYLAPATITE

FACIAL FILLERS What is calcium hydroxyapatite?

This product, considered a stimulator of the skin’s own collagen, is composed of exclusive and patented microparticles of calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) suspended in an aqueous gel. Its main component is identical in composition to the mineral part of bones and teeth, being a biocompatible substance.

When calcium hydroxyapatite is injected into the skin, it initiates a process called neocollagenesis or collagen production. This process stimulates the body to produce new collagen and promotes collagen growth around the injected area.

Its effect on the skin is progressive and the final result of the treatment can be evaluated after four months, because its function, from the moment it is injected, is boosting the skin’s natural collagen and increasing facial volume to give the skin a smooth and natural look. The change is immediately noticeable. Over time, the gel is gradually absorbed by the body, but the tiny, very fine microparticles remain.

BENEFITS

– Fills in areas that have lost volume.

– It uses material compatible with the organism.

– The duration is approximately 2 years.

– The filler is gradually reabsorbed.

– Stimulates collagen in a vectorial way.

– It does not contain substances of human or animal origin.

– The risk of allergic reaction is practically nil.

– It does not require sensitivity testing prior to treatment.

– Provides immediate corrective effect.

– It can be used to augment large areas such as the cheeks or chin.

– Stimulates the body to produce new collagen over time.

– Smooth, natural results and a very similar touch to the patient’s own tissue.

APPLICATION

First we apply the anesthetic cream on the area to be treated if the patient so desires, or local anesthesia is infiltrated. Once the topical/local anesthesia has taken effect, the product is infiltrated into the areas to be filled, using “vectors” against gravity to achieve a more satisfactory result. After infiltration, the treated area is massaged.

Contraindications and side effects of calcium hydroxylapatite

Calcium hydroxyapatite has been used in the human body for more than 25 years with no reports of significant adverse effects related to the product, making it a safe, effective and long-lasting filler.

Since the filler is biocompatible, there is no need to wait for allergy test results, and since it is biodegradable, it does not produce any type of rejection and adapts very well to your skin type.

After injection, the substance does not migrate to other areas of the body. Over time, the microparticles containing the calcium hydroxyapatite filler naturally degrade into calcium and phosphate ions, which are safely and naturally metabolized by the body itself.
